End of season Festivities!!!
Thank you to everyone who came to Ride the Lights on Saturday..... it was a great success and we can't wait to do it again. A huge mega thanks to Canyon Technical Services for the donation of the BBQ and to Scott Shaw for the donation of the lights as to which the night wouldn't have been possible without them.
Congrats to Taye Neish on his recent upgrade from novice to Intermediate!!!!
So the outdoor season is drawing to a close with this being our last week of regular race nights..... but wait.... we aren't going to give up that easily. Our season is due to end at the end of this week which gives us a month off until the indoor track in Olds opens up in November, but with a few requests heard I am happy to announce that for the month of October we will race on Sundays!!!!! These race days will of course be weather dependant.... so if the track is white we won't race obviously. We can deal with a little bit of a chill right? Please be advised as well that during the Sunday races if we do not have alot of interest, then those days we will just have open track instead of motos. Thanksgiving weekend we will race on the Monday instead of the Sunday. Times for October will be as follows: Registration from 2-2:30 on site (the track phone will be up and running too as always), and racing at 3pm.
This Sunday, September 30th, we will be holding a Mom's clinic for all you mom's who wanna know what it is all about. A HUGE thanks to our own Janice Sekora for planning, arranging and hosting this fabulous event. What do you need for this event? well the same rules apply for us as they do for our kids. You will need a long sleeved shirt, pants, no open toed shoes, gloves and a helmet. As for a bike, if you have one then great, if not I have been told a regular mountain bike will be fine. If you don't have a bike but still want to come check it out then come on down and I am sure that some of us can share to give all our moms a chance at this great opportunity. The clinic will start at 2 and just remember it is all for fun!!!
For those who haven't heard our year end celebration is scheduled for Saturday October 27th at 1pm at the Titans Rugby Hall (South on 2A just past the Gasoline Alley turn off). We will be BBQing and handing out some fantastic prizes. We will also be holding our AGM at the same time. We will get to talk about how the year went, what changes we want to see happen and also vote on executive positions coming up for grabs this year. So if you want a say on next season, want to run for a position and get your vote in for our new executive team then you just have to show up. Positions up for grabs this year will be sent out soon. All riders attending are encouraged to bring bikes as there is a big area to ride and last year the riders made their own ramps and jumps.
Well I think that is it for news. Check out the list of dates below to get the run down on whats left to go for the season:
Tuesday September 25- Regular race night
Thursday September 27- Open class racing only. Registration as normal but no points counted
Sunday September 30- Moms clinic at 2pm.... no registration needed....just show up
Sunday September 30- Open track at 4pm.... last regular open track of the season
Sunday October 7- Racing at 3pm
Monday October 15- Racing at 3pm
Sunday October21- Racing at 3
Saturday October 27- Year end celebration and AGM at 1pm
