2012 Racing season

Well tomorrow marks the first day of racing at the Red Deer BMX track.... Mother Nature may not have liked us for our beginner's clinic but she sure seems to be liking us enough to get our season started on time. It is supposed to be a fantastic 22 degrees out for our first night of racing... could we ask for anything better?

For those of you who are new to the track or just need a reminder of how things go....here it is...

To pre register your rider for that nights racing you can call the track phone at 403-896-9629 (89-mybmx) and leave your riders name, age, class and plate number. You can call this number ANY time on race day before 6:30. Or you can register on site from 6 - 6:30pm. Note: At 6:30 sharp the phone will be turned off and the registration booth will be closed and no more registrations will be accepted after that.

At 6:35 riders lists will be posted. ALWAYS check the riders sheets. The riders sheets contain your riders names and plate numbers.... if the name is not on there that means that rider is not registered to race that night. Always make sure that your riders name and plate number are correct or your rider may not get his or her points counted for. After the riders sheets are posted, the registration window will be open for 5 minutes only to make any changes if needed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check your riders plate number at registration on your first night of riding. It is VERY important that you ride with the right number.

Motos will then be posted between 6:50 - 7:00. The motos do not go in order of age classes so do not expect the younger riders to always be first. FOR NEW PARENTS: bring masking tape and a sharpie. We write our motos on the tape and stick the tape to the bikes.... that way the riders always have what motos they are in right in front of them.

After the riders 3rd moto, the kids usually line up at the registration booth, and when all of the time sheets are submitted then stickies are handed out to all riders who would like one.

FOR TUESDAY MAY 8TH ONLY!!!!
I will be at the track at 5:30 to accept new memberships. I will only be accepting memberships until 6 sharp as I will need to move onto race registration from there. During this half hour I will not accept race registration.

New parents: If you have any questions at all.... don't hesitate to come chat with me at the window or ask a parent on track..... we are always willing to help out as it may seem kinda confusing at first.

CANCELLED RACING!!!
If by chance we have to cancel racing on any given night due to wet conditions, the track phone and facebook will be updated with the info. Please note though that we always try to race if possible, so the call to cancel may not come until 5:30 on any night. If you are ever unsure if racing will be cancelled, keep calling the phone for updates or email Danielle.

Also, Don't forget that the beginner's clinic has been moved to this Saturday, May 12th, starting at noon.
